Designed in collaboration with Sinuhe Xavier for his remote travels.
This kit was born out of necessity, not theory.
While documenting remote regions across the Southwest and beyond for a global clientele, Sinuhe needed something built for the field, not the studio. Long days behind the wheel. Miles on foot through bentonite ridges, sun-baked washes, and sandstone domes. Gear needed to stay close, stay quiet, and stay adaptable.
Together with Sinuhe Xavier, we created a minimalist system rooted in the lineage of Vietnam-era photojournalist rigs and classic climbing daisy chains. What emerged was the Remote Location Correspondent Kit V2 — an ultra-light, field-proven combo of a modular camera strap and smaller wrist strap.
Camera Strap : / /
A first-of-its-kind design using ¼" paracord and Colfax’s first of its kind built-in daisy chain gear rope loops. Inspired by the makeshift sling systems of war photojournalist and climbers alike, the strap features a lightweight aluminum carabiner (NOT FOR CLIMBING) for fast adjustment or to clip gloves, a lens pouch, or a ditty bag. Whether it’s snugged across your chest while bushwhacking or hanging from a roll bar in the Sahara, it stays put and stays ready.
